    Excellent little pocket guide to wild edibles in the UK and when it's possible to harvest them.Shows a picture or illustration of the plant, flower or berries. When to pick them, their uses and how to consume them. There are even recipes for some of the wild edibles.Small enough to take with you on all your walks, hikes or even ultralight hikes as it's just larger than my palm.All in an excellent purchase and it would be a superb teaching aid so you could send out the kids to forage for you

    This book won't help you to eat for free but the author makes this clear in his introduction. Rather this book is a great resource for foragers and those with an interest in the history of what people ate and when. The book covers what plants can be eaten, how they can be used, where they grow an what times of year to find them. It's not a definitive hotricultural encyclopedia but it is a great pocket book to have if you want to add supplement your diet with some new (or rediscovered old) ideas.

    Really great little book for me and my children we are novice foragers we knew the basics I. E apples blackberries but this has really opened our eyes the kids are loving our family outings even more

    I new you could make wine from elder flowers and berries but did not know that you could also eat the berries, or make jam with them, so much of what I read was told to me as a child of not to eat as it`s bad for you.

    brilliant book, if your looking for this kind of book, look no further, its great, small for your pack, book its self has plant info of picture and photos as well as seasonal avaliability and how it can be used..fantastic highly recommended
